Shelly stared blankly towards Shauna who was still floating behind her with a confused expression. The other three girls who weren’t being headlocked by her looked at Red with expression of either hope or impatience.
Staring at the scene beneath her with confusion, Red changed her gaze from the group and then to the sky while scratching her head.
“…Wasn’t the monster a massive flying dragon?” She asked confused.
“Oh gods… You aren’t going to start it again, are yah?” Pris asked with a fatigued tone as she watched the yellow magical girl’s eyes sparkle dangerously. “You are…”
“My, oh my. How could I have been so blind. It all makes sense now!” Sparkle yellow said as she started twirling into the air. “All our battles up to now had mostly been one-sided even though our enemies were always big monsters. Then, suddenly, a human-looking girl in dark clothes similar to ours appear and become a real challenge, even to the point of defeating us as she looks down and say: You aren’t worthy of being magical girls!”
“Where’s Sparkle Red when you need her?” The yellow magical girl, Ellie, said with an annoyed tone as she stared back to the massive wyvern flying high in the sky. Staring at her in shock and confusion, Shelly felt a mix of confusion, relief and annoyance.
Confusion as to what the girl was doing there wearing those clothes while flying so nonchalantly when she should have been just a normal girl who’s friend of her sister. Relief at seeing that, despite having been thoroughly smashed against the building besides her, she only looked to be out of breath for a moment. And annoyance for not having even thought that something like this could be the case.
It took the Leviathan a moment to notice that the yellow girl still hadn’t seen her standing there. She still managed to recover from her shock before Ellie noticed her, but when she started to move away, she noticed as the girl’s eyes widened slightly and she lowered her gaze back to the leviathan.
In the end, by the time the leviathan had to leave for her mission, she had barely managed to make a very flimsy water barrier. After all, no matter how much magic someone have, being able to pull out a complex magic usage like that after only a couple of hours of training was probably asking too much. Even more since she couldn’t brute-force her way through, like she had done with her previous exercises in magic wielding.
Receiving a reminder from Vivian that the time for her to go on her job was approaching, she had to leave the training room and head to stairway leading to the ceiling. On her way, she found Ammon waiting for her while carrying a cloak in her hands.
“Here be thy disguise.” She said while handing the cloak to the leviatan. “Just a reminder, but only put it after thy uniform hast been equipped.” She explained.
It was only after a couple of minutes after Amy left that it finally sunk in to Shelly that the promise she had made fundamentally meant that she would have to change back into a girl even after she managed to learn how to change into a man. And worse, she would have to go see her childhood friend in that form!
Thoroughly regretting her inability to refuse any sort of request from Amy whenever she made that pleading face Shelly could only let herself sink on the chair while pulling the tip of her tail to fiddle around with absentmindedly.
For a moment, Shelly started to think that possibly working there might not be that bad. If she just avoided the dangerous jobs and sticked to the simpler ones, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Heck, if she stayed she could even use magic! Yes, she would have to stick to becoming a girl from time to time, but magic! How many people would she possibly know that could use actual magic?
“Magical… Girls?” Shelly said shocked as she held her head in her hands. “And i’ll have to fight them?”
“Well, it MAY be one of your duties later on.” Vivian said as she waited for Shelly to recover from her shock before walking ahead. “Also, we aren’t entirely sure if that’s how they are actually called, but if we base ourselves in your culture, then we believe that to be the case.”
[I’M GOING TO SEND BIG SIS THERE RIGHT NOW, YOU HEAR ME?]
The messages popped up in Michael’s cellphone one after another as Shauna started to sound more and more panicked. Either that or angry. Typing as quickly as she could with the still unfamiliar hands, she replied:
